‘How do you manage to maintain such a positive outlook on life?’


As complimentary as this question would naturally be, up until now it’s been something that’s always seemed so foreign to me for one main reason: how easily worry and stress could and to a certain degree, still does build up on me. The process of learning to control and harness these insecurities has by no means been straight forward and gradually I’ve learned to accept that it will most likely never be fully complete.

"Blue Monday"


The 16th of January 2016: the third Monday of the year and the so called "blue Monday". The most depressing day of the year. Now this is going to be a bit of a rant but here is why. Giving a day where it is socially acceptable for people to feel depressed is almost saying that on the other 364 days of the year it isn't socially acceptable. When it should be. On this day more people talk about depression but why stop it there? Why can't we talk about it on 365 days of the year? Why can't we sit at a table and talk about our mental health without it being awkward?

Colouring to Happiness

The huge craze at the moment is adult colouring books and as silly as they sound, I love them! It is great to spend some time feeling like a child again and just being able to colour in. But why am I blogging about this? Well, it is proven that colouring relieves stress as it increases mindfulness, as we focus solely on the task at hand. The colours you choose are also supposed to have a psychological meaning behind them, representing deeper emotions. This can be seen as you expressing yourself and relieving pent up feelings.
